Rachakonda: On Thursday Rachakonda CP Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS has delivered an electrifying speech on anti-ragging, drugs abuse, Eve teasing, cybercrimes to the students of Anurag University, Ghatkesar, during the Anti-Ragging, Anti-Drug Awareness and Cyber Crime Awareness program. In this program Anti Ragging Committee and Anti-Drug Club have been formed and around 2000 students attended were made to take oath for ragging free campus.
Addressing the students CP has stated that college campus plays a crucial role in building the character of a student and opined that the character defines the future of such student. CP elaborated the significance of anti-ragging awareness programs which have been organized by Rachakonda Police and all the educational institutions and uttered that involving in ragging activities could spoil the career of students.
CP has stated that eve teasing and ragging are heinous things and said that no parent will send their children to educational institutions to harass other students. CP instructed the students to treat their juniors as friends and build amicable relationship to support them and help them till they adopt to the campus. CP mentioned how our abroad students acts as a guide for the new students and guides them to complete their education in the foreign countries.
CP reminded everyone that Andhra Pradesh Anti ragging act was enacted in 1997 to bring change in the students and the same act was later adapted by Telangana state in 2014. CP mentioned that ragging is a punishable offence as per the Anti-Ragging Act and mentioned that educational institutions will also be penalized for not taking appropriate action as per the rule number 7 of Telangana prohibition of ragging act.
CP mentioned how drug awareness programs and addiction sessions, Naya Savera being conducted by Rachakonda Police Commissionerate brought change in the misguided youth. CP has also advised the students not to get attracted towards consumption of prohibited drugs and other psychotropic substances and reminded everyone that doing drugs could spoil their physical and psychological health in many ways.
CP has stated that cybercrimes taking top place in the crimes and advised the students to get awareness on various kinds of cybercrimes like credit card fraud, matrimonial frauds, fake lottery, fake job offers etc. CP instructed the students to participate in the Cyber Yodha training sessions to gain knowledge over cybercrimes which are being conducted by Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
University Vice Chancellor Dr. S Ramchandran, Registrar, CEO, HODs and 2000 students attended to the program.
