The district police force of North & Middle Andaman is continuously involved in the crackdown down of illicit liquor, Handia, & illegal sale of IMFL in the District . The Police, with the help of local informers conducted regular raids and searches in jungles. During the month of February-2023, the teams of various Police Stations, headed by SHOs and Sub-Inspectors conducted raids and massive jungle search operation. In these search operations, around 700 litres of Lehan, 40 Kg Handia and 9 litres of illicit liquor was destroyed and also 240 Nos. IMFL bottles of different quantities have been seized under Excise Regulation. All the History Sheeters are regularly being checked by the beat police staff, making it hard for them to be involved in any illegal activity and fresh history sheet of bootleggers has been opened for surveillance.
