Tiruvarur: Mr. S. Jayakumar, M.Sc., (Agri.), the Superintendent of Police for Tiruvarur District, has initiated various activities since assuming office. Stringent measures are being implemented against individuals engaged in illegal activities, such as murder, robbery, rowdism, the sale of panmasala and gutka, as well as offenses against women and children. Police officers demonstrating exemplary performance in dealing with criminal activities receive appreciation and certificates. Notably, the apprehension of the long-wanted accused Sadayangal Selvakumar (A) Selvakumar was successfully executed, and appropriate legal action was taken. Special recognition was given to the Special Constable from Arithuvaramangalam Police Station for apprehending individuals involved in illegal sand theft. Additionally, Mr. N. Arivahagan, Special Assistant Inspector of Udaiyur Police Station, and Mr. P. Manimuthu, Special Assistant Inspector of Police, were acknowledged for their diligence at Thambikkottai check post.
Furthermore, Mr. M. Vairamani, Assistant Inspector of Koradacherry Police Station, successfully arrested Rowdy Sujili (A) Samraj, involved in a robbery in the Tirutharapoondi area. The police officers and constables from Thiruthurapoondi Police Station were commended for their contributions.
On December 27, 2023, Superintendent Mr. S. Jayakumar visited the District Police Office to felicitate and present certificates to the officers. He assured that stringent action would be taken against individuals engaged in illegal activities in Tiruvarur district, and the Gangster Prevention Act would be enforced against those participating in serial criminal activities that disrupt law and order. Additionally, he encouraged the public to report any illegal activities occurring in their respective areas.
