Thiruvananthapuram: State Police Chief Dr. Sheikh Darvesh Sahib IPS. attended the Crime Review Conference at the Police Headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram.
The state police chief noted that over 38,000 police officers, including district police chiefs, have been trained on the new laws set to take effect next month, with remaining officers to be trained soon. District police chiefs should launch extensive campaigns to combat the rise of online frauds, utilizing the services of Janmaitri Police.
District police chiefs are urged to take decisive action to prevent violence against women and children, and to ensure the arrest of perpetrators in such cases. Investigations into cases of missing women and children should be intensified. The state police chief also instructed district police chiefs to curb theft and violence against individuals, ensuring the arrest of culprits. The meeting reviewed the current situation regarding cyber crimes, violence against women and children, and POCSO cases. Measures taken under various sections, including the Capan Act, were also discussed.
The state police chief praised police officers of various ranks for their role in the peaceful conduct of the Lok Sabha elections. The meeting was attended by ADGP Manoj Abraham, MR. Ajith Kumar, H. Venkatesh, I.G.s, D.I.G.s, S.P.s, District Police Chiefs, and A.I.G.s.
