New Delhi: A Delhi police cyber cell team has arrested a cyber-stalker and identified the accused as Jasmeet Singh, 33, for allegedly harassing women in the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab and demanding money.
Police are investigating a complaint lodged by a woman at the Cyber West District Police Station. The victim claimed to have made contact with a stranger on a social media platform. The accused befriended her and started talking on video calls.
He recorded private videos of her and started harassing her. He said he would circulate her videos on social media, threatening family members and demanding money. Through technical surveillance, the cyber police found that the cyber cell team worked professionally, technically and had communications with Instagram.
The accused has good technical skills and has been using a virtual private network rather than a mobile number to communicate on social media platforms.
After getting a clue about the existence of the accused in Hoshiarpur in Punjab, a team immediately set out to nab the man. There the accused Agu Jasmeet Singh was arrested by the police,
