HYDERABAD: The mystery behind the murder of a minor girl at Narsingi was solved by Cyberabad West Police in Hyderabad just 10 hours on Monday. Police cracked the case based on a CCTV footage collected from various junctions in the area. A vegetable vendor from Bandlaguda in Chandrayanagutta has been identified as the accused known as Mohammed Akbar (25). The deceased was a minor and student of Class IX. The accused duped the victim on the pretext of love and marriage, according to the police. Mohammed Akbar took her to an isolated place and tried to assault her sexually. When the girl resisted him, he tied her hands with a piece of cloth, gagged her mouth and murdered her by slitting her throat and smashing her head with stones. The victim and the accused were neighbours said Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, (Shamshabad) Mr. Sunpreeth Singh. The youth noticed that the girl was spending money on her lavish lifestyle. On Monday morning after the girl’s father left home for work, the accused took the girl’s mother and other siblings to a dargah and left them there for prayers and returned to the girl’s residence. Akbar then took the girl, who was alone home, to a secluded place in Narsingi Police and assaulted her sexually. The minor girl was forcibly taken to bushes where he tied her hands with a piece of cloth and gagged her. The he tried to assault her sexually. Mustering courage, the girl in her tender age did all she could to resist him and tried to run away from the place but with little success, Police said. The accused using his brutal strength overpowered the little girl and murdered her by slitting her throat and smashing her head with stones. After making sure that his weak and helpless captive had died, he fled. Police upon receiving information visited the site of offence and collected samples of evidence. The investigation was taken up by a special team. Police collected CCTV footage from different places in the police limits and scanned them for clues during the probe. Police registered a complaint of missing case after receiving a complaint. The Cyberabad Police also circulated a picture of the suspect to all police stations.
