Ranga Reddy, Telangana: Cyberabad Police have intensified night security by launching an innovative foot patrolling initiative aimed at strengthening visible policing and improving public safety. The special activity ensures police presence not only through patrol vehicles but also through direct interaction with citizens on the streets.

Under this initiative, patrolling teams and Blue Colt personnel stop their vehicles and conduct regular foot patrols across busy roads, market areas, bus stands, residential colonies, and narrow streets. By walking among the public, officers closely observe ground situations and encourage citizens to remain vigilant and immediately inform the police about any suspicious movements.

The foot patrols help officers monitor areas where vehicles cannot easily reach, thereby improving surveillance and preventing anti-social activities. Police personnel also interact with night-time workers, traders, watchmen, and residents to understand their concerns and build stronger community relations.

Officials said the initiative not only boosts public confidence during night hours but also acts as a strong deterrent against criminal activities. Suspects moving around without valid reasons are checked, vehicle inspections are conducted, and individuals involved in drinking or anti-social behavior in deserted areas are restricted.

The night foot patrolling, currently being carried out in areas under the Dundigal Police Station limits, has set a new trend in community policing. According to Inspector P. Satish, walking patrols allow officers to closely observe local conditions and strengthen trust between the police and the public.

Police personnel involved in the patrols say the initiative improves alertness, enhances field-level monitoring, and provides opportunities for direct conversations with citizens. Officers added that close interaction with residents often helps gather early information that can prevent crimes.

The police have urged citizens to cooperate and promptly report suspicious activities by dialing the emergency helpline 100 or informing the nearest police station, emphasizing that public safety is a shared responsibility between the police and the community.
