Guwahati: The Assam Government on Wednesday took a decision to fulfill the long-standing demand of the 24,000 home guards in the state by approving a hike in their daily wage to Rs.767/- from the existing Rs.300/-.
With this hike, the home guards will now be able to draw around Rs.23, 010/- as monthly wages.
A notification issued by the home and political department said, “The Governor of Assam is pleased to enhance the duty allowances of home guards with immediate effect.”
