Thrissur Rural: The Thrissur Rural District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) Team, in conjunction with Kodungallur Police, apprehended two individuals in the parking lot of Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple within Kodungallur Police Station premises, seizing a significant quantity of the potent synthetic substance MDMA. The arrests, accompanied by the confiscation of illicit drugs and a vehicle, ensued following a proactive search conducted by a specialized police unit prompted by intelligence provided to Thrissur Rural District Police Chief, Mr. Navneet Sharma IPS.
The individuals in custody have been identified as Shivakrishna, residing at Punnakaparampil House, Edavilang, Kodungallur; and Abhinav, hailing from Palaghat House, Podian Bazar, Edavilang, Kodungallur. The apprehending team comprised Thassoor Rural DCB DySP N. Muralidharan, Kodungallur DySP Santosh Kumar.M, Kodungallur Police Station S I Sajini and S I Sebi, along with Thrissur Rural DANSAF S I Maraya Pradeep C.R, Jayakrishnan P.P, SCPO Maraya Suraj V Dev, Liju Iyyani, Mithun R Krishna, Manuel M.V, and CPOs Nishant A.B and Akhil.
The intercepted narcotics were intended for distribution within the coastal region, implicating the arrested individuals as integral components of the coastal drug trafficking network. Subsequent investigation has revealed that the accused sourced the contraband from Bangalore for distribution. Law enforcement has initiated a thorough probe into both the consumers and suppliers involved in the illicit drug trade.
