Davangere, Karnataka – May 2025: In a heartwarming display of community service and solidarity, the Davangere District Police in collaboration with Lifeline Blood Center and the Karnataka Hemophilia Society organized a voluntary blood donation camp today at the District Police Community Hall within the DAR premises.
The camp was inaugurated by the esteemed Dr. B.R. Ravikantegowda IPS, the IGP of the Eastern Zone, Davangere, who expressed his appreciation for the initiative. He highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and its role in saving lives in the community.
During the event, Superintendent of Police Mrs. Uma Prashanth IPS and Mr. Sam Varghese IPS, along with other police officers, took the lead by donating blood themselves, inspiring their colleagues to follow suit. The active participation of the officers reflected the strong commitment to social welfare within the police force.
Over 100 police officers, staff members, and volunteers from the district police office joined hands to donate blood, contributing to the vital cause. The event not only underscored the humanitarian spirit of the police force but also helped strengthen the bond between the community and law enforcement.
This initiative is a step towards ensuring a steady supply of blood for hospitals in need, while also fostering a culture of service and responsibility among the police officers and the local community.
