Hyderabad, Telangana: The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) convened a high-level coordination meeting at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force/H-NEW, bringing together representatives from registered rehabilitation and de-addiction centers across the city. The initiative aims to enhance collaborative efforts in combating drug abuse and ensuring effective rehabilitation for affected youth.
Representatives from 10 leading rehabilitation centers—including Wisdom Society, New Hope Association, DARE, Asha De-addiction Centre, Vennela Centre, Nest Rehabs, and others—participated in the meeting.
During the session, Sri Vaibhav Gaikwad, IPS, DCP Task Force/H-NEW, highlighted the need for structured and consistent counseling for individuals referred by H-NEW, reinforcing the importance of a unified framework for rehabilitation.
Key Highlights of the Meeting
* Rehabilitation centres were urged to conduct structured counseling sessions for drug abusers referred by H-NEW.
* Emphasis was placed on collaborative support for individuals apprehended during drug-related enforcement operations.
* Rehabilitation institutions assured full cooperation, offering professional psychological support and counseling services.
