Delhi: Delhi Police has registered 141 arrests of people and has impounded 10,500 vehicles for not following traffic rules in the year 2021.
A keen focus on road safety can be observed from the government and regulatory authorities. Also, with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s interest in making 6 airbags mandatory for passenger vehicles, the central government has stepped up efforts to make our roads safer.
Recently, the Delhi Police released its report on traffic violations, which revealed that 10,500 vehicles were seized in the year 2021 and 141 people were arrested. Delhi police informed the media that the main violators of traffic rules are private vehicle owners using scooters, motorcycles and cars; in fact, many were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
