Delhi: Delhi Police has conducted verification of tenants in Vandana Vihar area, Lakshmi Park. When police arrived at a home for tenant verification, they found the room door on the first floor locked from the inside around 10:40 p.m. They knocked on the door several times but there was no response. However, police personnel sensed that there were some people inside the room.
After a while, the door opened and the people inside were shocked to see the police team, following which they tried to flee from there. However, vigilant police caught them.
Police found five plastic bags and a weighing machine in the room. Examining those plastic bags, more packets of “marijuana” were found in them. Police later arrested three people and seized five plastic bags containing 141.91 kg of marijuana.
The accused have been identified as Daroga Roy (30), Pappu Kumar, and Sudhir Kumar of Raghavpur in the Vaishali district of Bihar.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were working as day laborers but came up with the idea of selling marijuana to make money in a short time. During the preliminary investigation, the police identified the accused Daroga Roy as having contact with old cannabis smugglers.
