Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested two Afghan nationals in what may be considered as one of the country’s biggest methamphetamine drug seizures in the history of India, 312.5 kg of methamphetamine and 10 kg of high purity heroin worth around Rs.1200 crore.
These accused were caught by the police along with the drug near Kalindi Kunj metro station on Meethapur Road in New Delhi.
Mustafa Stanikza (23) and Rahimullah Rahim (44) from Afghanistan were arrested by the Delhi Police on a tip-off that a well-known gang of drug lords operating from abroad was present in Delhi.
A team led by ACPs Mr. Lalit Mohan Negi and Mr. Hrudaya Bhushan, a team comprising Inspector Mr. Vinod Kumar Badola and Inspector Mr. Arvind Kumar and SI Mr. Sundar Gautam and SI Mr. Yashpal Singh participated in the operation under the supervision of DCP/Special Cell (NDR) Mr. P S Kushwa. The Delhi Police busted a transnational synthetic drug cartel with the arrest of these Afghan nationals, with the largest seizure of high-quality party drug methamphetamine, a total of 312.5 kg of Afghan origin heroin, an FIR has been registered against the accused under various sections of the UAPA Act, Delhi Police Special Cell Special Commissioner of Police Mr. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal said.
A glass vessel used for purifying various other chemicals and contraband was also recovered from the accused, Mustafa’s house. Accused Rahimullah revealed to the police that there was more contraband in a car parked in Noida, UP. Accordingly, from the white color Toyota Etios car parked at Chainsukh Market, Ramlila Road, Village Achar, Ramlila Road, Greater Noida, according to the accused, we have also seized 1 kg of methamphetamine in solid and liquid form and 5.31 kg of heroin and 1.7 kg of heroin-coated dry fruits, Police Special Cell Special Commissioner of Police Mr. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal said.
According to the preliminary results, it is known that these accused have links with the terrorist network in foreign countries and further investigation is being done by the Delhi Police.
