New Delhi: The Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS), a non-profit organization under the Delhi Police Welfare Department, is celebrating its Golden Jubilee on April 11. As part of the celebrations under the name “UPAAN”, PFWS is hosting a mega event on the day.
The mega event will feature a cultural program at the Adarsh Auditorium at the Delhi Police Headquarters. The organization also observes PFWS week from April 1 to 7 at all ten welfare centers.
PFWS honors many celebrities and talented participants on this occasion. A PFWS documentary and a song showcasing the work the community is doing will also be released. An internationally acclaimed artist is also creating a painting to celebrate the Golden Jubilee.
Founded in 1972, the Police Family Welfare Society aims to cater to the financial, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of police families.
Currently, PFWS operates ten welfare centers in Malaviya Nagar, Vikaspuri, New Police Lines, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh, Model Town, Dwarka, Jyoti Nagar, Ahta Kidara and Narela. A sub-center was also opened in February 2022 at Ashok Vihar Police Colony.
