New Delhi: Delhi Police have registered an FIR after a lawyer complained that an unidentified man had threatened to put himself in false cases by using a photo of Police Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Asthana IPS on WhatsApp profile.
As soon as the complaint was received by the police, the IFSC unit police in the special cell registered an FIR and started searching for the accused.
On May 21, Delhi Police received an email complaint from lawyer Manjit Singh. He complained in an email that an unidentified man was threatening to put him in false cases through messages from an unidentified number with a photo of the police commissioner displayed as a profile picture on WhatsApp.
According to his complaint, when the lawyer checked the number on Truecolor, it also showed a picture of the police commissioner. The lawyer immediately lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police via email, Delhi police said the mark was being searched for an unidentified accused.
