Khawzawl: In their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, the Khawzawl Police seized a considerable amount of narcotics on 14.04.2023. The drugs consisted of 287.24 grams/23 soap cases of heroin, which had an estimated value of approximately Rs.1.43 Crores in the international market.
To adhere to the laws and regulations, the District level Drug Level Committee immediately took action to dispose of the seized narcotics. They used the Krishi Vighyan Kendra (KVK) Incinerator, Khawzawl, to destroy the drugs in a prompt and effective manner.
The disposal process was carried out under the supervision of various government officials, including DGP Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva IPS, DC, YMA office bearers & staff, and police personnel. The team of police officers who were involved in the operation were highly appreciated for their diligent work in ensuring that the drugs were disposed of properly and promptly.
The destruction of the narcotics is a critical step in the fight against drug trafficking, as it ensures that the seized drugs do not end up back on the streets or in the hands of drug dealers. The Khawzawl Police have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to this cause and are to be commended for their efforts in keeping their community safe.
