Hyderabad, Telangana: Director General of Police Shri B. Shivdhar Reddy, IPS, along with Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Sri G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, and other senior officials conducted a high-level review meeting at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, on Thursday to oversee security and logistical preparations for the prestigious football match featuring global icon Lionel Messi on December 13.
Officials from GHMC, Electricity Department, HMWSSB, Sports Authority of Telangana, and event organizers participated in the meeting, briefing the DGP on the arrangements made by their respective departments.
DGP Emphasizes Seamless Experience for Spectators
Addressing the officials, the DGP directed all departments to take stringent and coordinated measures to ensure a hassle-free experience for spectators. He highlighted the need for tight security arrangements, given the international stature of Lionel Messi and the participation of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy in the event.
The DGP instructed officials to widely publicize safety guidelines, visitor instructions, and traffic diversions. He emphasized the use of publicity boards in metro trains and major city intersections to inform the public of essential details and precautions.
Stadium Meets International Security Standards
Officials briefed the DGP that the stadium, spread over 23 acres, adheres to international standards and is fully equipped for large-scale events. With a seating capacity of 39,000, the stadium has been divided into four major sectors—South, East, West, and North—to facilitate smooth movement and security management.
The DGP called upon all departments to work with complete coordination to ensure the successful and incident-free conduct of this prestigious international match.
