Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, June 12, 2025: In a proactive step towards ensuring the peaceful, secure, and well-organized execution of the Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028 in Ujjain, the Madhya Pradesh Police held an extensive review meeting under the leadership of Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Kailash Makwana at Police Headquarters, Bhopal.
Senior officers from various wings of the Police Headquarters, including ADGs of Intelligence, Cyber, Telecommunication, Railways, and Training, as well as IGs and DIGs from across the state, participated in the meeting. Officers from Ujjain, Indore, Ratlam, Khandwa, Dewas, Dhar, Shajapur, Sehore, and Agar-Malwa joined virtually, demonstrating a coordinated statewide approach to the preparations.
A highlight of the meeting was the presentation by senior IPS officer Shri Prem Kumar Gautam, IG ATS, Uttar Pradesh, who shared best practices and technological innovations implemented during the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela 2025. His presentation served as an invaluable reference for the upcoming mega event.

Smart Traffic & Crowd Management
– AI-enabled traffic control centers, drone surveillance, and mobile apps for route updates.
– Temporary flyovers and walkway corridors for smooth pedestrian movement.
Robust Security & Anti-Terror Preparedness
– Integration of national security agencies like NIA, IB, ATS for intelligence sharing.
– Deployment of bomb squads, anti-sniper teams, and facial recognition systems.
Mass Surveillance & Real-Time Monitoring
– Advanced AI-based CCTV with behavior analytics, fall detection, and fight detection.
– Live drone feeds and quick response teams ensured ground-level vigilance.
VIP Protocol & Geo-Fencing
– Blue-green lane traffic protocols, biometric access, and helicopter landing zones.
Public Convenience & Digital Integration
– GPS-tracked shuttle buses, e-rickshaws, digital maps, and lost & found booths.
– QR code-based registration and missing person identification system with FRSS.
