In view of the arrival of several VIPs, including Vice President of India Mr.Venkaiah Naidu, Director General of Police Mr.M. Mahender Reddy visited Sammakka Sarakka Jatara site in Medaram village here on Wednesday to review the security arrangements. The DGP held a meeting with senior officers Mr.Navin Chand, Mr.Anjan Kumar, Mr.Nagi Reddy, Mr.Malla Reddy, SP Mr.R. Bhaskaran, collector Mr.R.V. Karnan and special officer Mr.P.J. Patil to take stock of the situation. Pilgrim rush to this part of the district continued, leading to traffic snarls at certain points for some time. Mr. Karnan said the arrangements were up to the mark and to the expectations of devotees. The DGP also expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of affairs so far.
