Kottayam: At the Kottayam District Police Parade Ground, a ceremony commemorating Independence Day was held, during which the Minister raised the flag and received a salute. Notable attendees included Mr. K. Karthik IPS, the District Police Chief, District Collector V. Vigneswari, and various public representatives. The Independence Day parade saw the participation of 27 platoons from different departments. Among them, Kottayam DHQ secured the top position while Excise came in second. The minister also awarded prizes to the victors. A total of 27 platoons participated, representing Police-03, Forest-01, Excise-01, NCC-7, Student Police Cadet-7, Red Cross-2, Scout-2, Guides-2, and Band Set-2. Overseeing the parade as the commander was Mr. Sreejith. T, the SHO of Kumilangad Station.
