Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: In a strong initiative to promote women’s safety and empowerment, the District Police Department organized a series of “Nari Shakti” awareness programs across multiple villages. The programs focused on raising awareness about women’s security, cybercrime prevention, and the eradication of child marriages.
During these sessions, police officers engaged directly with women, youth, and villagers, providing guidance on important safety measures, including:
* Precautions while using social media
* Dial 1930 for reporting cybercrimes
* Dial 112 for women’s emergency assistance
* Dial 1098 to report or prevent child marriages
Officials emphasized that women should immediately report any harassment to the police, assuring that strict legal action will be taken against offenders. They also highlighted that women’s safety remains a top priority and encouraged active community participation at the village level to create a safer environment for all.
The district police reaffirmed their commitment to empowering women and ensuring their protection through proactive awareness, education, and swift action.
