Uttarakhand, Dehradun: In a significant breakthrough, Doon Police have successfully solved multiple cases of vehicle theft with the arrest of a habitual offender involved in stealing two-wheelers. Acting on intelligence inputs and investigative leads, the police apprehended the accused and recovered four stolen vehicles from his possession, which included one motorcycle and three Activas.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had been engaging in vehicle thefts regularly, not for monetary gain, but to fulfill his fascination with riding different vehicles. He would steal two-wheelers from various locations, use them for a while, and then abandon or sell them before moving on to another theft. His pattern of operation involved targeting unattended or poorly secured vehicles, swiftly bypassing their locking mechanisms, and escaping unnoticed.
The arrest marks a crucial step in curbing vehicle theft in the city, and police are now investigating whether the accused was part of a larger network or had any past criminal records. Authorities have urged vehicle owners to remain vigilant and adopt proper security measures to prevent such incidents.
