On the morning of May 11th, 2023, the Kerala Police Drone Forensic Lab & Research Center inaugurated their new drone forensic software, which is designed to provide scientific testing and verification of technical information related to drones. This software is expected to be a game-changer in the field of drone technology and will help police officials in detecting and preventing crimes more effectively.
The inauguration ceremony was performed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan, at SAP Parade Ground, Perurkada, at 10 am. The Chief Minister flagged off state-of-the-art surveillance drones that will be distributed among 20 police districts across Kerala for widespread use in policing. These drones are expected to help the police officials in monitoring and maintaining law and order in a more efficient and effective manner.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also announced that police officers who have successfully completed DGCA certified drone pilot training will be issued licenses to operate drones in Kerala. This will enable the police force to use drone technology to its full potential in maintaining law and order and combating crime in the state.
Several other dignitaries, including State Police Chief Mr. Anilkanth IPS, Mr. VK Prashant MLA, Mr. K Padmakumar IPS ADGP Headquarters, and Mr. P. Prakash IPS Intelligence IG, were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
