Raipur: Over the course of the weekend, a meticulously planned operation unfolded, orchestrated jointly by the traffic police and local law enforcement agencies. Checkpoints were strategically positioned at key junctures and thoroughfares across the city, constituting a robust campaign against drunk driving under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
This concerted effort bore fruit on Sunday, as 28 inebriated drivers were apprehended. Notably, the month of October saw a total of 59 instances where drivers were found to be operating vehicles under the influence. In each case, due legal process was followed, with all matters brought before the Honorable Court. Consequently, the licenses of all implicated drunk drivers were suspended, underscoring the gravity of their transgressions.
This commitment to public safety will persist as an ongoing initiative, a testament to the dedication of Raipur’s law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the lives and well-being of its citizens.
