Ernakulam Rural: One of the main links in the international drug network has been arrested by the police. The special investigation team, led by Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS, apprehended the suspect with the cooperation of the Bangalore MICO Police. Last month, police had arrested Vipin in Angamaly with 200 grams of MDMA. He was caught smuggling narcotics on a tourist bus from Bangalore. Further investigation led to the identification of a native of Congo, known as a captain among drug gangs, who arrived in Bangalore on a student visa in 2014. Instead of studying, he turned to drug marketing and began manufacturing narcotics, known as Cook. His gang is believed to be responsible for most of the drugs reaching Kerala, having sold drugs worth crores of rupees. He could not be contacted by phone; instead, payments were made via Google Pay, with drugs delivered to an unmanned location and a map provided for collection. The suspect was placed under surveillance and, after days and nights of waiting at various locations, was taken into custody with the help of the Bangalore police. The investigation team included DYSP A. Prasad, ASP Trainee Anjali Bhavna, Inspector P. Lal Kumar, SI N. S. Roy, and Sr. CPO M. R. Mithun, under the leadership of District Police Chief Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS, along with CPOs Ajitha Thilakan, AB Surendran, the Dansaf team, and others. As part of Operation Clean, 745 NDPS cases have been registered in the rural district in the last six months.
