Barpeta: In a recent operation, a dedicated team from Tarabari village Police Station in Barpeta District conducted a successful raid that resulted in the arrest of two suspected drug peddlers. The individuals, identified as Jabbar Khan, son of the late Muslim Khan, and Mokibul Islam, were taken into custody after being found in possession of illegal substances. The operation was part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking in the area.
Upon apprehending the suspects, the police team recovered two soap cases that were later determined to contain a substance suspected to be heroin. The total weight of the seized substance was approximately 20.66 grams. The confiscated items have been sent to a forensic laboratory for further testing to confirm the presence and purity of the heroin. This seizure is a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
The police have initiated an in-depth investigation to ascertain the source of the drugs and the network behind their distribution. Authorities are also looking into the past activities of Jabbar Khan and Mokibul Islam to determine their roles and connections within the drug trafficking network.
