Rachakonda: The SOT-LB Nagar Zone team, in collaboration with Chotuppal Police, successfully busted an interstate drug syndicate, apprehending three ganja transporters and seizing 280 kg of dry ganja, two cars, and three mobile phones, all valued at Rs. 80,30,000/-. A case has been registered at the Chotuppal Police Station, Rachakonda.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bhosale Aba Machhindra alias Aba (29), Avinash Shivaji Rathod alias Avi (19), and Siddha Rameshwar Pujari Sidhu (27), all from Maharashtra. They were operating as transporters and peddlers.
The police seized 280 kg of dry ganja, two four-wheeler vehicles (an Innova with a fake number plate AP28AE5902, original plate MH48AC5902, and a Swift Dzire MH08AN3438), and three mobile phones from the accused.
The three, along with their associate Ajay Rathod from Maharashtra, conspired to earn easy money through the illegal trade of ganja. They had previously sourced ganja from Odisha and sold it at a higher price for substantial profit.
Following their plan, Ajay Rathod contacted Teja from Odisha, a known ganja supplier, and the four gathered funds to pay him. On 23.06.2024, Bhosale Aba Machhindra, Avinash Shivaji Rathod, and Siddha Rameshwar Pujari Sidhu traveled from Solapur to Alurikota, Odisha, via Hyderabad and Khammam, in two cars provided by Ajay Rathod. Teja arranged for 280 kg of dry ganja, which the three then loaded into the cars and transported through Vijayawada, Suryapet, Choutuppal, Hyderabad, and finally to Solapur in Maharashtra.
On the afternoon of 25.06.2024, acting on a tip-off, the SOT-LB Nagar Zone team and Chotuppal Police intercepted the Innova (AP28AE5902, fake plate, original MH48AC5902) and the Swift Dzire (MH08AN3438) at Pathangi Toll Gate on NH-65 within the Chotuppal Police Station limits. The three accused—Bhosale Aba Machhindra, Avinash Shivaji Rathod, and Siddha Rameshwar Pujari Sidhu—were apprehended along with the 280 kg of ganja. The seized items were documented under a cover panchanama.
The accused are being presented in court for judicial remand.
This operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Dr. Tarun Joshi IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and the guidance of Mr. K. Muralidhar, DCP-SOT II, by the SOT-LB Nagar Zone team along with Chotuppal Police.
