Rachakonda: Acting on credible information, the SOT LB Nagar Zone team, along with the Nagole police, busted an interstate drug racket by apprehending an interstate drug peddler. They seized 31.2 kg of ganja, a Maruti car, and a mobile phone from his possession. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act-1985 at Nagole Police Station, Rachakonda.
The accused, Boinpally Suresh, was born and raised in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, and earns his livelihood as a cab driver. He was previously involved in a similar criminal case registered under the NDPS Act at Bhadrachalam Police Station.
Recently, he reconnected with an old acquaintance, a ganja peddler from Khammam, who suggested he transport ganja for quick and easy money. One source handed him a Maruti 800 car containing 31.2 kg of ganja for delivery to a receiver in Nizamabad.
The accused concealed the ganja packets in a specially crafted gas tank to avoid detection during police checks. On the morning of June 30, 2024, acting on a tip-off, the SOT LB Nagar team, along with the Nagole police, intercepted the Maruti 800 car (registration No. AP-22-G-0676) within the limits of the Nagole police station, apprehended the accused, and seized 31.2 kg of ganja, the Maruti car, and a mobile phone from his possession. Efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding accomplices.
The arrested accused is being produced before the court for judicial remand. These arrests were made under the direct supervision of Dr. Tarun Joshi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and the guidance of K. Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, LB Nagar Maheshwaram, along with SOT and Nagole police personnel.
