Vijayawada: During the Dussehra celebrations, Commissioner of Police, Mr. S.V. Raja Shekhara Babu, IPS, along with Mrs. Dr. G. Srijana, IAS, made an important visit to the command control center established at the Model Guest House to oversee and enhance security measures for the event. Recognizing the significance of the festival and the large number of devotees expected at the renowned Kanaka Durga temple, the Commissioner emphasized the need for a vigilant approach in monitoring the situation.
At the command center, Mr. S.V. Raja Shekhara Babu provided detailed directives to the command control officers and supporting staff. He stressed the importance of continuously monitoring the queue lines of devotees visiting the Durga temple, where heavy crowds were anticipated, and ensuring seamless management of the city’s traffic flow. The aim was to maintain order, prevent any untoward incidents, and swiftly address potential issues by alerting sector-specific authorities well in advance. Such precautions were deemed crucial in maintaining the safety and security of both the devotees and the general public during the festive rush.
After reviewing the operations at the Model Guest House command center, the Commissioner continued his tour by visiting the Police Command Control Center situated on MG Road. There, he interacted with the officers and personnel stationed on duty, giving precise instructions aimed at further tightening security measures. His focus was on the effective coordination of police efforts to ensure the well-being of the thousands of pilgrims expected in the city. He also reiterated the importance of vigilance, real-time communication, and proactive intervention, underscoring that all efforts were directed towards ensuring a smooth, safe, and incident-free Dussehra celebration in Vijayawada.
