CHENNAI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) is the agency that inquires, registers and investigates cases of corruption against state government employees and public servants. 99 officials faced departmental disciplinary action in 2015-2016 said DVAC. In complaints of corruption against police personnel 17 cases were registered and seven were subjected to departmental disciplinary action. There are 868 personnel including one Director in the rank of DGP/ADGP, 3 IGs, 1 DIG and 4 SPs in DFVAC. But there are 127 posts that remain vacant in the department, including that of the director, DVAC sources say. ]]>
