East Godavari: The East Godavari district Kirlampudi police seized 1731.8 kg of cannabis worth Rs.35 lakh from Peddapuram. Under the supervision of SDPO Mr. A. Srinivasa Rao and SB DSP Mr. M. Ambika Prasad, Jaggampet CI Mr. V. Suresh Babu, about 1731.8 kg of cannabis were seized from 10 bags in an Eicher van and 30 bags in an Ashok Leyland van container. Two vehicles used for transporting marijuana were seized in the presence of intermediaries and five people were arrested.
The Police seized the following property from the possession of the accused: 40 bags of cannabis-1731.8 Kgs which is valued approximately at Rs.35 lakhs, An Eicher van, An Ashok Leyland van, Cash of Rs.11,000 / -, and 5 mobile phones.
