East Godavari: As per the instructions of the DGP Mr. Damodar Gautam Sawang IPS, East Godavari District Police conducted an awareness program on “Mahilala Rakshana-Chattalu”. In English “Women’s Protection Laws”, As the women are ignorant about their legal rights from childhood to old age, their lack of knowledge in the curriculum or any other way from childhood, lack of jurisprudence, fear of the court, etc. Laws are as follows:
- Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005
- Muslim Marriage Act
- Christian marriage law
- Responsible for the maintenance of a woman whose husband has died
- Hindu Minority and Preservation Act
- Protection of children from sexual offenses, 2012
- Andhra Pradesh Raging Prohibition Act – 1997 and Rules – 2002
Mr. Adnan Nayeem Asmi IPS, SP East Godavari District, Kakinada City MLA Mr. Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, and other dignitaries participated in the awareness program.
