Thrissur City: During a routine patrol, East Police officers noticed suspicious behavior and questioned a suspect, who was later identified as the thief who had stolen a bike from the same station area. The bike thief, identified as Befin (25) from Paravattani, Thrissur, was caught by Sub-Inspector Balasubrahmanyan and Civil Police Officer Sufir of the East Police Station while patrolling Chirayat Vanga. The theft occurred on 20.08.2024, when the bike was stolen from Fatima Nagar, Thrissur, Palakkad. A case had been registered by the East Police, with Sub-Inspector Anil Kumar leading the investigation.
During the patrol, the officers spotted the suspect near Potakulam, close to the Kokala railway gate. Upon seeing the police, the accused abandoned the bike and attempted to flee along the railway track. It was confirmed that the suspect was the same individual involved in the Fatima Nagar bike theft. The accused was apprehended, produced in court, and remanded. The investigation team included East Police Station Inspector Jejo M, Sub-Inspectors Anilkumar and Balasubrahmanyan, and Civil Police Officer Muhammad Zufeer.
