Hyderabad, Telangana, October 13, 2025: In a commendable effort to reunite citizens with their lost property, the East Zone Police successfully traced and recovered 100 lost, stolen, and missing mobile phones worth around ₹25 lakh through a special drive.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Dr. B. Bala Swamy, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Zone, with the support of Addl. DCPs, ACPs, SHOs, and technical staff. Using advanced tools like the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, technical surveillance, and close coordination with mobile service providers, the police efficiently tracked the missing devices reported over the past 30 days.
A handing-over ceremony was held on October 13, 2025, at the DCP Office, East Zone, Amberpet, where the recovered phones were returned to their rightful owners after proper verification of IMEI numbers and ownership documents.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the dedicated efforts and effective use of technology by the East Zone Police in swiftly restoring their lost possessions, reflecting the department’s commitment to public service and citizen trust.
