Hyderabad: In anticipation of the upcoming elections, Mr. Sandeep Shandilya IPS, the Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad, convened a meeting with all DCPs, Addl. DCPs, ACPs, Inspectors from various zones including South, South East, East, South West, Central, and the Task Force. The discussions revolved around the categorization of police stations into A, B, and C categories, as well as the sanctioned strength allocation for each station.
The agenda also encompassed election preparedness, focusing on enforcement efforts related to cash, liquor, freebies, drugs/ganja, and precious metals, along with addressing MCC violations and lodging cases. Additionally, the meeting covered matters such as NBW execution, bound overs, arms deposit, action against rowdy sheeters, vulnerability mapping, identification of critical polling locations and stations, and the role of the Zonal Election Cell.
Clear instructions were provided to the law and order police to ensure the elections are conducted impartially and without prejudice. Officers were directed to take resolute action when necessary, adhering strictly to the Model Code of Conduct. Any queries or concerns were addressed, and a comprehensive review of the Task Force’s performance over the past 15 days was conducted.
Furthermore, the 90 flying squads stationed across the 15 MLA constituencies in Hyderabad were reminded of their duty to carry out their responsibilities diligently. The emphasis was placed on all officers to act in a manner that upholds the principles of ‘Free, Fair, and Firm’ to ensure a bias-free election process. It was made clear that any lapses in duty would result in serious disciplinary repercussions. Mr. Vikram Singh Mann IPS, Addl. CP L&O, and Mr. P. Vishwa Prasad IPS, Addl. CP Special Branch were present.
