Haryana: Haryana’s Director General of Police, Mr. Shatrujeet Kapur IPS, has confirmed that the Haryana Police have meticulously completed all necessary preparations to ensure that the upcoming Assembly Elections-2024 are conducted with the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and peace. These elections, scheduled for October, are of significant importance, and the state police force is leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to maintain law and order during the electoral process.
As part of the comprehensive security arrangements, the Home Ministry has already deployed 70 companies of additional forces to Haryana. These companies are tasked with bolstering the state’s security infrastructure and providing critical support to the local police forces. Furthermore, recognizing the scale and importance of the elections, the Haryana Police have requested an additional 225 companies from the Home Ministry, which are expected to arrive shortly. This significant influx of personnel will ensure that the state is well-equipped to handle any situation that may arise during the elections.
In addition to the deployment of forces, the Haryana Police are setting up interstate checkpoints to monitor and control the movement of individuals and goods across state borders. These checkpoints will play a crucial role in preventing the infiltration of anti-social elements and the transportation of illegal materials that could potentially disrupt the electoral process. Moreover, flying squad teams and static surveillance teams have been strategically deployed throughout the state to provide continuous monitoring and rapid response capabilities.
The Haryana Police are also working in close coordination with various other departments to establish a robust network for the surveillance and monitoring of illegal activities. This inter-departmental cooperation is crucial for ensuring that any attempts to undermine the integrity of the elections are swiftly identified and dealt with. The combined efforts of these teams are aimed at creating an environment where the citizens of Haryana can exercise their democratic rights freely, without fear or intimidation, thereby ensuring a smooth and successful electoral process.
