Bhadradri Kothagudem: As part of the 8th phase of operation Muskan, which was ambitiously undertaken by the central government to eliminate child labour, five teams were formed across the Bhadradri Kothagudem district. District SP Dr. Vineeth G IPS informed that 67 child laborers were identified during continuous inspections from July 1st to 31st. Police freed 67 child laborers across the district as part of Operation Muskan-VIII.
He met with Operation Muskan teams in a conference at the District SP office. He said that 55 boys and 12 girls have been protected and cases have been registered against 54 traders and businessmen. Apart from programs like Operation Smile and Muskan, children who are missing out on education and doing various kinds of work at an early age have been identified and are facing difficulties. It is suggested to take measures to protect them in coordination with the departments.
Later, he advised their parents to take up counseling to protect their future and to make them fully aware of the programs being arranged by the government for the education of children. He asked the police to inform them immediately about the child laborers wherever they come. He ordered to register legal cases against the people and businessmen who are doing work with children as a reward. The SP congratulated Additional SP Mr. KRK Prasad who acted as the nodal officer for Operation Muskan-VIII, Inspector Mr. Venkateshwarlu who worked as in-charge and Operation Muskan teams on this occasion.
