Bengaluru: The CCB Police of Bengaluru (Central Crime Branch) on Tuesday busted a huge network of giving fake mark sheets for money.
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have busted the network of producing and selling fake marks cards of more than 25 prestigious universities of the country and have succeeded in arresting four people including two women. Shilpa, Surendra Kumar, Sarada and Rajanna who were involved in the fake marks card sales network have been arrested, Mr.Pratap Reddy IPS- Police Commissioner. told in a press conference.
Three special teams of CCB, after obtaining a search warrant from the court, simultaneously raided three institutes in Mahalakshmi Layout, Kodigehalli and Marathahalli belonging to Venkateswara Institute, which were manufacturing and selling fake marks cards, conducted a search for about 12 hours, searched the network and arrested the accused.
More than 1500 fake marks cards, more than 80 seals, 30 hologram stickers, 9 mobiles, about 1097 fake cards issued for various degrees including SSLC, PUC, BA.BSc, BCom, BBA, MBA, Engineering in three institutes were recovered from the arrested accused . Enrollment, PhD books, hard disk, printer, mobiles, seals, have been seized and further investigation has been carried out, he said.
Information was given on the website of Venkateswara Institute of distance education (correspondence) courses of various degrees, after seeing this, the complainant went to the office at Mahalakshmi Layout on November 2 and inquired with the lady who was the receptionist of the office and asked that a B.Com degree is required. The lady said that if you pay one lakh, she will give you a degree certificate from a prestigious university.
The website of VSS organization has been operating for five years, Kishore, Sharda, Shilpa and Rajanna who were working in this organization were arrested and more than 1 thousand fake mark sheets and 70 seals of names of more than 20 prestigious universities including Karnataka Open University, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, West Bengal were arrested. City Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy said that the hard disk printer and mobile phones have been confiscated.
Recently, the accused approached a young man and asked him to pay one lakh rupees if he wanted a degree marks card without examination. The accused had sent a fake marks card to the youth’s WhatsApp number. The illegal network came to light when three offices including the central office of Mahalakshmi Layout were raided based on the complaint given to the cyber crime police by a suspicious young man.
