Faridabad: The Faridabad police solved a murder case by arresting a youth who turned out to be the neighbor of the deceased. The police said that the accused aged 20 is an undergraduate student of an open university. The youth had been stalking her for a while. He had even proposed to her but the victim had turned his proposal down. The youth on knowing that the teenage girl was alone entered her house with an intension to rape her on May 17 in Ballabhgarh. The youth attacked by stabbing the girl with a knife after his mask came off and she identified him, the police said. The teenage girl aged 18 had just cleared her senior secondary school examination and was preparing for the medical entrance. The younger brother of the victim was the first to find that his sister was murdered as he saw her lying dead in a pool of blood. Both her parents were schoolteachers and were at work when the murder took place. On bringing the incident to the attention of the police, three teams of the police force were constituted to work on the case. During investigation, one of the teams questioned the victim’s school friends, teachers and coaching class staff; the second team questioned the bad characters in the area. The third team during investigation made inquiries about the man seen in the CCTV camera footage from the locals, auto rickshaw drivers and shopkeepers. The police identified the accused with the help of the neighbors. The accused was arrested from Rewari on Sunday night, the police added. ]]>
