Punjab, Fazilka: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Fazilka Police achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending a drug smuggler following a brief encounter near Ladhuka Bridge. The operation, led by the CIA Fazilka team, resulted in the recovery of 2 kilograms of heroin, along with a firearm and ammunition.
According to officials, the suspect attempted to flee on a motorcycle and opened fire on the police team, discharging two rounds. In a swift and tactical response, the police fired back in self-defense, injuring the accused before successfully detaining him.
The police recovered four packets of heroin weighing 2 kg, a .32 bore pistol, four live cartridges, two empty shells, and the motorcycle used by the accused.
This operation highlights Punjab Police’s unwavering commitment to public safety and its zero-tolerance policy against drug-related crimes.
