Rachakonda: On Thursday, Rachakonda CP Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS has instructed the staff to behave cordially with the people and devotees during the immersion and directed the officials to make foolproof bundobust arrangements for the immersion of Lord Ganesh idols, during the co-ordination meeting with the officials and men of LB Nagar zone, held at KKYR Gardens, Karmanghat. CP has also directed the traffic Police to coordinate with Law and Order teams to follow the route map for procession during the briefing session at LB Nagar.

Addressing the gathering, CP stated that, Rachakonda Police have been taking utmost care to complete the immersion peacefully every year and special amenities have also been provided for the women. As a part of providing amenities to the women, CP mentioned that special Mobile She Toilets will be inducted this year for the convenience of women at the immersion spots.

CP stated that possibility of traffic jam is high at the LB Nagar junction since it is the entry point for the devotees and normal travellers who arrive through the Vijayawada highway and instructed the officials to put in additional efforts for the smooth procession.

CP mentioned that several ponds, baby ponds and lakes have been notified for the immersion at Saroornagar, manthrala cheruvu, Jalpally lake, Mansoorabad and other places and said that some artificial baby ponds have also been established at NTR market and Saroornagar Government Junior College ground. CP uttered that devotees should approach only the ponds and lakes for immersion which are notified and arranged by the government in the limits of GHMC and Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.

CP instructed the officials to take all the safety measures to protect the internal peace among the different communities and mentioned that persons will be penalized who involve in unlawful activities and becomes a part of hate speeches on social media and other public platforms on the immersion day, which triggers unrest and destroy the communal harmony. He instructed the officials to inspect the routes carefully and mentioned that Bomb disposal teams will take up Anti Sabotage checks in the routes which lead to the immersion spots.

CP directed the staff to arrange required amenities for the devotees at the immersion spots and said that normal citizens will come to see the immersion and instructed the officials to deploy special teams to give no space for uneven incidents which creates further troubles.

He reminded that liquor shops will remain closed during the immersion day from 6 AM of 9th to 6 PM of 10th September and advised the devotees to stay away from taking alcohol while coming for the immersion activities. CP reminded the officials to deploy sufficient staff for drunken drive sessions even on the immersion day to the vehicle drivers who comes with Ganesh idols, to avoid uneven traffic troubles and vehicle accidents while going back to their homes. CP advised the devotees and citizens to co-operate with the Police to complete the immersion successfully.

Sudheer Babu IPS, Mr. Sunpreeth Singh IPS DCP LB Nagar, Mr. Bala DCP Road Safety, Addl DCP Mr. Shameer CAR Amberpet, Addl DCP Crime Mr. Srinivas, ACP Mr. SB Jawed, ACP Mr. Sridhar Reddy, ACP Mr. Harinath Cyber Crime and other officers of Rachakonda were also present during the meeting.
