Gurugram, Haryana, Sept 27: In a horrific road accident, five youths lost their lives when a Mahindra Thar overturned after hitting a divider on National Highway Exit 9 near Rajiv Circle around 4:30 am on Saturday.
According to police, six people were travelling from Uttar Pradesh to Gurugram on a work-related trip when the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle. The Thar crashed into the divider with massive force and overturned several times, leaving the vehicle completely mangled.
Five occupants died on the spot, while the lone survivor sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to a nearby hospital.
A case has been registered for speeding and reckless driving, and police have begun a preliminary investigation into the accident.
