Kodakara: Police seized 180 liters of foreign liquor being smuggled in a car on the Kodakara National Highway. The suspect and the vehicle were apprehended near Ulumpatchum yesterday around 1 o’clock. Chulliparamp Mubas, a resident of Puthyapalam, Kozhikode, was arrested. 20 cases containing 180 liters of Indian-made foreign liquor were seized from the accused, who was transporting the liquor from Mahi to Kottayam. Acting on confidential information provided by Thrissur District Police Chief Dr. Navneet Sharma IPS, and under the leadership of Chalakudy DYSP R Ashok, the district dance team and the police team led by Kodakara SHO Rafiq jointly arrested the suspect and confiscated the foreign liquor. The suspect was remanded and imprisoned for smuggling a large quantity of foreign liquor.
