New Delhi: The police arrested four persons for allegedly firing at policemen near Shivaji Stadium in the high-security Lutyens’ Delhi this morning, said ACP Ramesh Kumar at the Connaught Place Police Station. The accused have been identified as Aman, Punit Bhatia, Sahil Verma and Kamal, all in their twenties. The incident was reported last night when the four men got into an argument with a paan wala. Police personnel deputed from a nearby picket rushed to intervene. On seeing the policemen rushing towards them, the men, who were in inebriated condition, opened fire at them, but were overpowered, said the ACP. No one was injured in the entire episode. One of the arrested men was in the jail in connection with a murder case and had come out around a month ago, said an officer.]]>
