Bareilly: Police on Saturday nabbed four persons from Qila area, who were planning a robbery, which if successful, would have added to the spate of incidents of theft, loot and robberies in the past fortnight. “The four suspects were caught planning a robbery in Qila area. Four country-made guns and cartridges were recovered from them,” said Mr. Rohit Singh Sajwan, Superintendent of Police (city).
Police are already on the edge following a spate of robberies, which have kept them on toes for the past fortnight. A dozen robberies have been reported since the murder-cum robbery at the residence of a principal in Nawabganj area.
The robbery at Subash Chandra’s residence in Nawabganj had caught police off the guard, as the gang of robbers had also brutally injured the principal’s wife.
Since then, special instructions of intensified patrolling were issued by Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Jogendra Kumar.
