Warangal Commissionerate police have arrested a man for smuggling cannabis by rail. Police have arrested four interstate marijuana smugglers, including two women, who were supplying marijuana to those wanted by train. Meals Colony and Matwada police have arrested four suspects, including two women, for smuggling marijuana in two separate incidents. Police seized 22 kg of cannabis worth about Rs.6 lakh and Rs.30,000 from them.
Among those arrested by the police were Tabbatia Bhishoi from Odisha, Kamini Nayak, Dammuni Nayak and Rajesh Kumar from Bihar. Warangal Police Commissioner Dr. Tarun Joshi said the four cannabis smugglers arrested by the police were trying to make easy money by buying cheap cannabis in Odisha, packing it per kilo and smuggling it to other states by train with bags containing cannabis packets and cannabis smuggling large sums of easy earn money.
As part of this, the accused, who were on their way from Bharampur, Odisha on Monday reached Warangal railway station on Tuesday morning. The suspects were arrested and taken to the Mills Colony Police Station, where they confessed to smuggling marijuana.
Similarly, two other accused Rajesh Kumar and Dammuni Nayak were found wandering in the area of Shankar Vilas Hotel in Warangal MGM Center on suspicion that the police went and checked the bags of the accused. Police found the marijuana in their bags and arrested the suspects. CP Tarun Joshi said they were shifted to Matwada police station for questioning.
