Hyderabad: During the recent 11-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, SHE Teams actively worked to ensure the safety of women in crowded areas such as Khairatabad Bada Ganesh and other busy locations. Of the 996 individuals caught red-handed for misbehaving with women, 200 were presented before the Hon’ble Court, found guilty, and sentenced to 3 days imprisonment along with a fine of Rs.1,050 under Section 292 of the BNS & 70 (c) of the Hyderabad City Police Act. These offenders were apprehended with video/photo evidence of their inappropriate behavior in various public places across Hyderabad.
The remaining offenders, for whom no video evidence was captured, were strictly counseled in the presence of their families. They were warned about their behavior and instructed to attend regular counseling sessions with SHE Teams. These individuals will be kept under surveillance to ensure they refrain from repeating such actions.
The goal of SHE Teams is not just to punish offenders but also to reform misguided youth by addressing their mindset and attitude towards women through counseling and regular attendance. All counseling sessions will take place in the presence of psychologists, emphasizing psychological reform and offering offenders a chance to change their behavior and perspective towards women.
We encourage everyone to stand up, speak out, and remember that SHE Teams are always here to protect and support you. If you witness any improper behavior, don’t stay silent. Report incidents to SHE Teams through Dial 100 in emergencies or WhatsApp at 9490616555. SHE Teams are committed to ensuring the safety of women and making Hyderabad a safer city.
