Hyderabad City: On August 20, 2023, a collaborative effort between the West Zone Taskforce of the Commissioner’s office and the Law and Order staff of Film Nagar Police Station led to a special operation against organized begging. During this operation, five minor boys were apprehended, along with an individual named V. Surya Prakash. Surya Prakash, the alleged ringleader, had been collecting between Rs.1000 to Rs.2000 per day from the boys through organized begging activities conducted at Film Nagar Bus stops and nearby shopping areas. The authorities also confiscated three steel boxes, a smartphone connected to a PhonePe QR code, and a sum of Rs.640 in cash from these boxes. The accused organizer was charged under the Prevention of Begging Act and was subsequently handed over to the Officer-in-Charge of Film Nagar Police Station for further legal action. The apprehended five juvenile boys were placed in the care of Amanvedika Sneh Ghar, located at Monda Market, Secunderabad, for shelter and support.
Details of the accused are as follows:

After the boys collected begging funds, he gave them a daily sum of 50 rupees.
