Uttarakhand, Uttarkashi: In Uttarkashi District, on the auspicious festival of Annakoot, the revered doors of Gangotri Dham, one of Uttarakhand’s most celebrated pilgrimage destinations, were formally closed for the winter season. This ceremonial closure, rich with traditional rites and rituals, marks a significant moment in the spiritual calendar as the shrine prepares for the winter months.

As part of the closing ceremony, Hon’ble MLA of the Gangotri region, Shri Suresh Chauhan, along with representatives from the Shri Panch Mandir Samiti of Gangotri Dham, paid tribute to several key officials who played an instrumental role in ensuring a smooth and safe pilgrimage season. Police Station Head Harshil, Shri Jagat Singh, Outpost Incharge Gangotri Sub Inspector Shri Pramod Uniyal, and Constable Shri Pancham Rana were each presented with certificates as tokens of appreciation for their dedicated service and exceptional cooperation during the Gangotri Dham Yatra 2024. Their recognition reflects their commitment and the collaborative efforts that contributed to the successful management and completion of this year’s pilgrimage season, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of thousands of devotees who visited the sacred site.
